The Mediation Office for South Savo and the Varkaus Region is administered by the general management of the registered association Sovittelu (‘Mediation’). The general administration, guidance, and supervision of the mediation services are the responsibility of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.

The operation of the Mediation association is supervised by an expert executive board, which includes representatives of social work, child welfare, the police, the prosecuting authority, the court, development work, and the voluntary mediators.
